Glean is a food sharing platform that facilitates the distribution of surplus food within local communities. It allows users to donate excess food to those in need and enables businesses such as grocery stores and farmers to offer their extra goods at discounted rates, preventing wastage.

For donating food, users can create a listing, known as a "Glean," on the app and receive notifications when another user expresses interest in the item. Contact information is exchanged between parties to arrange convenient pick-up locations and times.

For selling discounted items, users can utilize the Glean marketplace feature to sell surplus goods that would have otherwise gone to waste. Once a listing is posted, other users can browse and purchase these items while coordinating pick-up details.

By participating as a Gleaner, individuals can contribute to reducing global hunger, water scarcity, and combating global warming through simple actions on the app. This not only aids in diminishing one's carbon footprint but also extends a helping hand to others within the community.
